Is this legal advice?
No. Scuffmark prepares documents from the evidence you provide, using the guidance the deposit schemes publish. We never promise an outcome. If your case is complex, Shelter and Citizens Advice offer free advice.
Which deposit schemes does it work with?
The three government-approved schemes in England & Wales: Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS), Deposit Protection Service (DPS) and mydeposits.
What if my deposit wasn't protected?
That's a different route — usually a court claim. Scuffmark isn't built for that. Shelter's guidance explains your options.
Do I have to use the scheme's dispute service?
No, it's optional, but it's free. Both you and the landlord provide evidence, and the adjudicator's decision is final.
